Uptale tells its funding story

Can you introduce yourself in a few words? And what does Uptale do?

Hello ! I'm Pascal Habib, Administrative and Financial Director atUptale since 2017. Uptale SAS was created on September 22, 2017 by 4 founders. It offers a platform for creating and sharing interactive experiences in 360° and Virtual Reality, for training and education.

What was the background to Uptale's need for financing?

We called on Karmen because we were looking for a solution that would allow us to keep up our recruitment during a period that is, for us, rather quiet: from February to May. In 2022, we started structuring our teams and we didn't want to put the brakes on while waiting for the more dynamic period in the second half of the year. We wanted to be ready for that time.

What were your selection criteria for your support service? 

First of all, we wanted financial support without dilution, which already helps in the selection of available solutions. We also wanted the structure to be able to accompany us during the financing.

Karmen was recommended to us by an acquaintance, and it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for!

Can you tell us about setting up the funding with Karmen? 

Setting up the financing was very simple and quite impressive in its speed. We were told this from the beginning, but we were surprised by the overall smoothness of the exchange and execution!

The contact with Charles (Sales team) and Hugo (Credit team) was very pleasant: they knew how to make the creation of the file simple. They were always transparent and clear in their answers to any questions we might have had.

How did Karmen contribute to Uptale's success? 

As I said before, our success depends on structuring our teams before our rush, and Karmen enabled us not to miss that. As a result, we were able to prepare calmly for the acceleration of activity in the autumn, and avoid the slack period. So it's a success!

How do you see the collaboration between Uptale and Karmen continuing?

We hope to be able to create a lasting relationship with long-term support, which is also one of the criteria that appealed to us at Karmen.
